Richard asks…
I am looking for information about a cemetery in what was Caribou, Boulder, Colorado?
From what I have found very little is known about who is buried there. But some people may have little tidbits that we can put together. Maybe you have a relative that died there. I want to compile all that I can on possibilities for this cemetery that has lost most of its markers.
Stephen Clinton answers:
I think you’re headed for correspondence with Caribou’s historical society & genealogy mavens. For all I know you may have to go through Denver’s main library to get there, and who knows, that may be the hotspot. You can find someone to write or call via your search bar or switchboard.com
Often it’s been found that places like that, some liddle ole lady long ago wrote up who was planted there but genealogy nuts and historians track those lists down!

Helen asks…
no law to protect dead people ?
death everyone hate it not many people talk about it , i am not sure if someone thought about this before but i am suspecting that a lot of people in Morocco get killed by relatives memebers of their families for money , inheritance and nobody notice
there are cases i heard which made me suspicious of this undercover social phenomena
for instance , a woman who hasn t got children but adopted a girl , when this girl growed up she got married to this very poor greedy man with no house nothing they moved to live with the adoptif mother few months later the mother started to look very ill lost weight
her neighbours noticed that it was even rumours that she was getting beaten up by her adopted daughter and her husband and they forced her to write a will the house and everything she has to the daughters husband a few months later the mother died in morning and they buried her in afternoon an that was it and they went and got death cetificate from baladya end of story
so when someone die in morocco they bury them quickly no involvement of doctors i really think that a lot of people get killed by relatives for money and greed with nobody noticing
i do think ther is a big hole in the law not everydeath is normal , it should be a law when someone dies before burial a doctor must check the body and state the reason of death
the death certicate has to be given by doctor not the sheikh in baladya
what do you think ?
Stephen Clinton answers:
I agree with you that in most of the cases they don’t really bother to investigate which is very sad I wish our law was better .

Ruth asks…
Why do some people feel the need to mock religions?
I’m talking about movements like the Flying Spaghetti Monster, Invisible Pink Unicorn, Tarvu, and now, just one I saw just a few minutes ago on another question here on Yahoo Answers: “Frisbeetarianist”.
I understand that you do this on some level to show us religious people that you think our beliefs are nonsensical. But I think it borders on the line of disrespect. For one, would you do it to your children? Would you do it to a friend who just lost a relative? Would you honestly tell such a friend that his/her relative is with the Flying Spaghetti Monster right now?
I understand that you may not see the value in religion, but I think mocking it goes too far. We’re not doing the same to you. We could make a parody organization of people who mock religions, and I’m sure you would hate it and call it disrespectful. My religion means a LOT to me, and many other people also feel very deeply about their chosen religion, just as you probably feel very deeply about your paths as atheists.
I think the best way toward world peace is to just accept the fact that we’re not going to agree yet still respect and understand each other. Mockery is not a form of respect. I’m a Christian but I would NEVER mock atheists or any other religion in any way, I would never convert them or expect them to believe as I do. I’m always looking to understand where they’re coming from. I even have friends who are atheists and we get along very well and respect each other.
But when SOME atheists mock Christianity (or ANY other religion), then to me, it’s like reducing someone’s belief in God to some mythological or nonsensical fabrication that we can ALL agree do not exist! When we disrespect each other and can’t step away from our beliefs long enough to respect others’, that is how wars start.
But that’s just my opinion and theory. What do you think about this? Why DO people feel the need to mock religions?
Stephen Clinton answers:
I’m glad that you as a Christian feel that way! I also wish we could simply ‘agree to disagree’. Here are my thoughts on why so many do not.
Yes. Those beliefs exist as a method to show that theist beliefs are nonsensical. But the bigger question is, why do Atheists, particularly in the US, feel the need to do that? Of course, given the ongoing conflicts across the globe, some do it out of desperation to convince theists to realize that certain types of fundamentalism can cause grave harm to humanity as a whole. Others do it as a way to justify their philosophy. Let me explain the latter.
Consider the Atheist bus campaign that ran globally last year. The messages were truly not that offensive, in my opinion – and that of most of my moderate Christian friends. The purpose of the campaign was primarily to *let Atheists and Agnostics across the planet know that they are not alone in their beliefs*. In some places in the world, there is still an intense stigma against Atheism, and people can have a fear of reprisal by their community if they speak up. However, the campaign drew intense criticism by groups across the country. There have been biblical messages and church advertisements on buses as long as buses have had advertisements. Why did this one campaign draw such shock and disgust?
Because…. It is still not socially acceptable to many theists that we exist. To you, this is an intellectual and theological disagreement that can be compromised on. To some fundamentalists, we pose a threat to the very moral fabric of “Christian” society. They do not believe that we, A) Can be productive members of society, or B) Can truly believe what we say. There are plenty of people who very publicly parody and make a mockery of Atheists.
The day when I and other Atheists do not have to swear to a god to testify in courts, take a political office, or join the military will be the day that I feel that Atheism and Theism have learned to co-exist. The day that we can agree that the ‘Golden Rule’ is acceptable to maintain ethics, whether people accept it out of rationality (betterment of humankind) or theology. I have no problem at all with people practicing religion should they wish to. But it should not be a cultural taboo for me to not wish to act in this way. And it should not have a negative impact on the fate of humankind (terrorism, etc).
Just my thoughts, hope it helps.

Chris asks…
I’m looking for a relative online?
What are 2 good websites, paid or unpaid to locate lost family…. not facebook but actual people search sites?
I’m looking to contact them by phone or mail
Stephen Clinton answers:
In genealogy, we research our ancestors not living people but sometimes you can find people on Facebook and MySpace, which you specifically requested not to asked to suggest so those are out. So try:
http://find.person.superpages.com/
http://www.anywho.com/
http://www.zabasearch.com/
If they own property or have recently sold property, some states property tax records are online and a few states have probate records online. You will be able to find little else online.
